I finished this in the early hours of 1st January but for various reasons haven’t taken a decent photo till today. I’m not even particularly happy with this one but it was the best we were able to get in the poor winter light.
Pattern: Opulent Raglan by Wendy Bernard
Source: Knitscene Fall/Winter 08
Yarn: Handspun – blend of 68% zwarbles from fleece, 16% alpaca, 16% white BFL
Needle 4.5mm knitpicks options.
I’m pretty happy with the way it fits, although I think perhaps I should have done the waist shaping a bit differently. I’d like it to be a little bit narrower directly under the bust. Considering my row guage was way off (2 st per inch) I’m pleased it fits so well. I did the flared sleeves from the pattern but hated them. I did 2×2 cabled ribbing. I also did 1×1 ribbing at the hem instead of a folded hem.
I love the shape of the neckline and I think I might try to do a plainer version some time in the future.
Earlier this week I ‘fulled’ the heathered singles from my last post. I was too impatient to photograph it in the skein but took a photo once it had been wound in to a ball.
I haven’t actually started with it on the bolero, but I’ll probably do that tonight. So far it’s looking like this.
I’m also on the last few rows of my first express lane socks. I am trying to use up exactly half the yarn and it just keeps going and going.
Gorgeous raglan! I love the colour and I think the changes you made to it really work well..

The raglan is great – beautifully made. I’ve never really looked at Wendy’s patterns before but inspired by you I’ve just done a bit of Ravelry research. She has some nice stuff!
